Antoine Hoppenot played soccer for Princeton FC since he was 9 years old. After he graduated from Princeton Day School and our soccer club program he played college soccer in Princeton University between 2008 and 2011. During his time at Princeton, Antoine was named First-Team All-Ivy in 2011, Ivy League Player of the Year, semi-finalist for the Hermann Trophy, second-team NSCAA All-America, third-team College Soccer News All-America, first-team All-Ivy and first-team All-Region in 2010, first-team All-Ivy League and third-team All-Region by the NSCAA in 2009, and second-team All-Ivy in 2008.
His professional career includes playing for MLS Philadelphia Union, FC Cincinnati, Reno FC, Tampa Bay Rowdies and Louisville City FC (current team).
The practice and the following meeting with Antoine was a great opportunity for the Boca players to spend time with a former PFC and current pro-player and learn more about the life, success, challenges and opportunities of a home-grown professional player. After playing in practice with the team Antoine stayed for a Q&A session, where the Boca players learned a lot about soccer college recruitment, professional soccer career in US and much more.
We would like to thank Antoine for stopping by and spending time with the Boca boys! They were truly inspired.

TEAM BOCA WINS A NATIONAL TITTLE AT US CLUB XVII NATIONAL CUP IN AURORA, CO!
Princeton FC 2002 Boys Boca represented the Mid-Atlantic Region in this year's US Club National Cup XVII Finals - July 20-24. After winning the Mid-Atlantic Regionals (June 30-July 3 in Somerset, NJ) the PFC Boys traveled to Aurora, CO to compete on the highest stage for the National Tittle.
On the first day of the competition the team had to verse South Dakota United Crew. After a scoreless first half the Boca boys found the opposition net twice in the second half to win the game 2-0. Jose Rodriguez-Chacon and Ian Pompliano were able to convert two of the many goal scoring opportunities the team created in that game.
On day two the opponent from GPS Charleston South Carolina, who also won their first game, were determined to stop Boca and started the game very well. The Boca boys responded and leveled the play, but no goals were scored in the first half. Immediately after the break Princeton used a defensive mistake and Herbert Ramirez capitalized for 1-0. In the remaining minutes both teams produced interesting soccer, but Boca kept the lead to win the game.
On the third day the opposition from Indiana - Y16 International 02 did their best to take something from the game, but Boca outclassed them. Brandon Sagbo scored the first goal after a very good combination with Daniel Ingersoll. Brandon was accurate from 15 yards away to give Boca the lead. The opponent had no plans to give up and made a few efforts to equalize in the second half. In one of those situations a free kick was rewarded and the Internationals tied 1-1. Boca responded well and just a few minuted later after a good dribble-penetration Silvio Aparicio was fouled just outside the penalty box, left side of the goal. The team's free kick specialist from that range and angle Daniel Ingersoll stepped up and placed the ball perfectly in the far side of goal - unstoppable shot to give the win 2-1.
After winning all three group games PFC Boca booked its place in the Final. In the other group the team from North Carolina - FC Cardinals Man City finished on top. The Final stage was set.
In the Final game both teams performed at a very high level. The Cardinals had a chance to score in the first 20 sec of the game and only the reaction of Boca's GK Jared Bell prevented what would have been a very bad start for the Princeton FC boys. Boca recovered quickly and tried to establish control of the game by using their signature style - quick ball movement. It was at min 25 when Boca had a very good chance to score as Ian Cabrera crossed the ball from the left flank to Aron Szoke, unfortunately Aron just missed the target. First half finished 0-0.
Boca started better the second half and Daniel Ingersoll scored with a long range shot for 1-0. Again Boca this time through Brandon Sagbo scored a few minutes later to take a 2-0 lead. Brandon received a very good pass from Daniel and accurately shot the ball past the goalkeeper.
Followed some difficult minutes as the Cardinals showed determination to get back in the game. They managed to score after one through pass caught the Boca defense by surprise, the Cardinals forward was accurate - 2-1. The team from North Carolina tried their best to score another goal by throwing numbers in attack, but they increasingly left their goal exposed. In one counterattack Ian Pompliano missed from a close range. Again Ian had a chance with just a few minutes left in the game - this time he was accurate and gave PFC Boca a 3-1 lead and seal the tittle of National Champions.
After the game Head Coach Yordan Hristov shared:
"It has been an amazing journey. This is a special group of players. We are very happy to be able to bring the National Cup to Princeton. The support from our Princeton FC family and the entire community has been phenomenal. I hope we made everyone proud with this achievement and I hope we can inspire the young players to dream big. Our Club believes and works hard for true youth player development. Winning the National Tittle is a reward for all our efforts and dedication."
Congratulations to all players, parents, coaching staff and the entire PFC family!
JULY 3, 2018
PFC Boca (2002B) outclassed the Regional opposition in the US Club National Cup - Mid-Atlantic Regionals in what turned out to be hot Summer heat wave temperatures.
The Boca boys had to compete against teams from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York East in their initial group. Our team had a fantastic start wining 5-0 vs Eastern FC Blast 2002 Premier. On the second day Boca boys had to face a much stronger opponent - GPS MA Elite Blue 02 Boys. After the team from GPS opened the score around the 10 min mark, the Boca boys responded in style and equalized with a wonderful long distance shot from Aron Szoke. Ian Pompliano was accurate from close range to give the Boca boys the lead in the second half. Boca kept the lead 2-1 till the end.
On day three the competition a morning game and a Semi-Final game in the late afternoon - both games were played in 90+degrees, but the Boca boys showed competitive spirit and determination and won against the talented team from West-Mont United SA - Premier White (3-1) in the morning and again GPS MA Elite Blue 02 Boys (2-0) in the afternoon. GPS team won the wild card to get to the Semi-Finals, but lost from Boca again.
The Final stage was set - Boca had to play vs PDA Suarez - the same team that Boca met in the US Club State Cup Final and lost the game after a questionable penalty kick in the last 2 min of the game and the following penalty kicks shootout. With those memories being way to fresh the Boca players were determined to right the wrong and control their own destiny.
Around the 10 min mark Herbert Ramirez received a great through ball and came face to face with the PDA goalkeeper, who had no choice but to faul him to stop the goal - inside the penalty. Xavier Guerreiro was accurate from the Spot.
PDA responded with a press and pushed the Boca team in their half for a few minutes, but could not create any dangerous opportunity to equalize. In the second half both teams had a couple of close opportunities, but no one was able to convert. The last few minutes PDA Suarez pushed hard forward to equalize - Boca defended well and with two minutes left a quick and perfectly executed counter-attack provided Xavier Guerreiro with an opportunity to face the PDA goalkeeper, pushed the ball behind him and score on open goal for 2-0. That was the exclamation mark in the hard fought game - a well deserved win for Boca and claiming the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship.
After the game coach Yordan Hristov shared: "This has been a dream season for our team and the Final win here today was a logical outcome of the hard work and team effort through the season. The boys performed at a high level despite the hot weather and showed a beautiful soccer. Everyone played a key role for the success - players for the way they competed, parents for their outstanding support and the Club for helping these boys live their dream. We will enjoy a couple of days off and will begin our preparation for the Nationals."
PFC Boca will represent the Club and the Mid-Atlantic Region in the Nationals in Aurora, CO July 20-24.
Congratulations on this wonderful achievement to all players, parents and PFC coaching staff with Head Coach Yordan Hristov.
Best of Luck in the Nationals!

Congratulations to team Boca for winning the prestigious Potomac Memorial Tournament!
Boca won the first game vs FC Frederick (MD) with a beautiful 30 yard long distance goal from Will Novak. Will's goal proved to be enough for the final score 1-0.
In a dramatic way the second game was cancelled due to the passing severe weather.
On the second day Boca tied 0-0 against the talented team from Woodbridge (VA).
That score set up another dramatic event - penalty kicks shoutout vs the NY Elite FC (NY) team. Boca was the better pk taking team and won 5-4.
In the Final Boca versed the #3 ranked team in Connecticut - CT Rush Shoreline (CT). After an eventful first 45 min Boca lead with a header goal from Herbert Ramirez. In the second half Will Novak scored after a good assist by Jose Chacon. Will decisively directed the ball passed the opposition defense and in a composed manner finished for 2-0. CT Rush responded with a goal of their own. Rush continued to press looking for an equalizer, but were held back by the collective efforts of the Boca players. 3 minutes before the end of the regular time a flank penetration by Brandon Sagbo surprised the defense, Brandon then crossed the ball to Jose Chacon, who scored from a close range. That ensured the Final success.
